I've wanted long hair for about half a year now %26amp; went to the hairdressers for a TRIM and she cut off about 2 inches! That was a while ago but it's still not the length i want it. Does anyone the average length that hair grows per month? Just so i can work out how long it should take to grow my hair to my wanted length!
Many Thanks to anyone who answers my question with a decent answer!
How Long does your hair grow per month at average?
It's a little different for every person, mine grows about 3/8" a month, I like my hair long but I do get a small trim every 6 weeks to keep the ends healthy - even my bangs, which I've grown out at last! - a regular trim also helps to stop the ends breaking off, which helps in the quest to grow it!
Hope this helps!

About half an inch a month. Of course this depends on lots of variables... hormones, nutrition, genetic disposition. Regardless, it will be approx five or six inches a year.

I know you're going to be disappointed in my answer, but I KNOW it to be true, I'm a beautician....It actually grows 1/4" per month. Some folks might have it grow a bit faster, but that is the average length in a month. Also, if someone bleaches or tints their hair, you can tell they have about 1/4" "nasty roots" in a months worth of time. This is factual.

as a professional hairdresser, the only true answer is hair grows about half and inch a month, a little bit more in the summer, you said you had a trim 3 inches off is not a trim but a full haircut, hairdressers should measure hair to be cut by there thumb top to the middle that is about an inch, suggest in future you ask and insist on a micro trim that only takes the tiny ends off and promotes growth, your diet also plays a big part in the condition and growth as well, but please please do not waste any of your money and potions and lotions that promote growth as it is really untrue, hope you get your desired length soon, and by the way change your hairdresser

Hi it grows about 1 cm per month you can increase it buy massaging the scalp often , but it all depends on the condition of you hair, I know hair dresser sometime cut loads off and this is because if you hair is quite damage then they tend to take off more than they should.
