I read once that you should cut it gradually so you don't freak out at a drastic cut. You could first have it cut just below your shoulders and then if you still want it shorter you can have a few more inches taken off. Bangs are really big right now so I would suggest having it cut with long layers and bangs. Also, stylist are not mind readers so having a picture will help alot. Go through some magazines and see if you can find a haircut you like that you can cut out to show the stylist. Good luck.

I would have to agree with the others that layered is probably the best way to go. Try it about shoulder length and then if you want it shorter, go even shorter. One suggestion for you: when you go to get it cut ask your stylist about give your hair to locks of love. They can will use it to make wigs for sick kids. Check out their page.
