Besides maintaining a healthy diet, getting the sleep that your body needs, exercising and things of that nature there is no "magic way" to make your hair grow back. And yes, straightening it will make it look longer but everyday it will slowly weaken, split, and damage your hair. Therefore the best thing to do is just wait it out, wash it properly ie use good shampoos conditioners, eat healthy ie stay away from caffeine and sugar, sleep, the things that I mentioned before. I'm going to be honest, and tell you that the three hairstyles you showed look emo. Emo's not in, trendy is in. You look like a beautiful girl in your display picture. Emo is not attractive, trust me, I've been there.

Grow your hair out longer, you can do much more with it, curl it, straighten it, up-dos, etc. And besides, all of the uber famous models have long hair.

Natural hair...?

My hair was once curly and basically wavy, but my mom wanted it straight and I got a perm when I was about 6 or so. I'm not mixed or anything. I'm Black, and I do have a lot of Indian and Caucasian people on both sides of my family which kinda explains the long hair. Anyways, I moved to AZ and my hair was cut a little bit. I let it grow out for the summer, but my beautician cut it again (I have a new beautician now). Now I want it back to my back again, and it's just past my shoulders. I haven't had a perm since October, and it's growing really fast. Also, it is getting kind of wavy/curly without the perm. I was wondering that if I didnt have a perm for a year, which is what I plan on doing, will my hair grow faster and will it go back to my natural curly state? My mom said it would though. i have very thin hair its genetic as my dad has it and my nan.

i never tie my hair back as it break easily and i have "larger than normal ears" which im self consious about

people say that a bob or short hair would suit me but i really want long hair its like my life time dream (sad i no) i had my hair cut short when i was younger to try and thicken it but it didnt work.

i have tried all different types of shampoo and conditioner and all sorts of hair products but its just hopeless.

my hair is also curly underneith but kinda straight on top, i would straighton my hair but that doesnt work either as my hair is thin, i cant even curl my hair it just doesnt hold. i died my hair "plum" but it was only semi-perminant so not to damage my already alful hair.

i just dont know what to do, its the worst hair ever im so jealous of others.

braid your hair before you sleep. i have very fine hair and was told by almost everybody it would never grow long, it was just like yours. then an older woman told me to braid it before i go to sleep. only use hair ties, never a rubber band. fat ones are best. i have had hair down past my waist for years now. i cut it from below my bottom last time to just below shoulders several years ago and it has already grown to my waist again. THIS WORKS. i also use aussie-mega 3-minute miracle as a regular conditioner but mostly on the ends so it stays strong but won't weigh it down. whatever anyone else tells you may be good advice, and try their ideas but this WILL make your hair be longer and more manageable.i hate to give my age but, i'm 44, and i know all about life with hair like this. ps- don't use lemon juice!!! it will weaken your hair and turn it uneven colors.

I have long hair but it still looks thin. I got my hair cut short about 6 month ago now it's all evened out because i had bangs; i just got some sortof like side bangs around my face and it looks alot better. I think your(our) best bet is to keep it long. Trust me i know what it is like. I turn my head upsidedown and quickly flip my head back up but it only stays big for not long enough. Some day i dream of my hair being thicker and looking prettier without having to do anything to it but i know i am born with my own hair and there is only so much i can do to it! First, get a good volumizing shampoo and conditioner. The person who said Catwalk is right, they are really good!

Then use a VERY light gel, like a spray gel to give you something to work with!

Blowdry your hair UPSIDE DOWN and with a round thermal styling brush!

If you want to add some curl, spray some root lifter or light spray gel near the roots, and pull your hair in the opposite direction (so if you want the hair to fall to the back of your head, pull forward so you can get the most volume.

Use ONLY aerosol hairspray, its made for fine hair. Spray kinds are heavier and therefore will weigh your hair down.

You don't have to have short hair just because it is fine!

You could also get a body perm to give it some volume as well, that way you have the option of blowdrying it straight, or wearing it curly to give it some body!

I'd say don't dye it too much, you don't want breakage or dryness!

They know they don't look like they weigh 110 pounds, but perhaps they look a little better. On some people, long, straight hair makes the face appear fatter. Many fashion magazines suggest that if you want to look thinner, cut the hair. People get desparate to look better to others, and they will give most anything a try including a haircut, diets that may or may not work, exercise that is too much, drugs, you name it. Basically, they want you to see that they may be a little bit attractive. It's probably for the same reason you may wear a certain pair of jeans or shades that you think are flattering.

I seriously doubt that this 300-lb woman with long hair who gets it cut is *intending* to look like she weighs 110 lbs afterward unless she has IMPOSSIBLY thick hair.

Perhaps she is cutting her hair because:

a) she wants to try something new,

b) she's tired of messing with hair that may not behave very well when it's long, or

c) she's trying to keep up with some fashion trend. . . since being overweight doesn't necesssarily mean you have to look frumpy and such.

It's easy to hide in long hair, and cutting it sort of forces you to put yourself "out there". While that change may not actually be weight loss, it *can* make a person who's only a few ounces lighter seem healthier (i.e. lighter) if they'd been the type trying to hide.

Going blonde "naturally" depends on how dark your hair is, using lemon juice and spending time in the sun will work, but gradually and it isn't a dramatic change. Tanning fast isn't a very good idea, but you can mix a few drops of iodine in baby oil, and speed it up, but be careful! It's easy to burn.

As a woman with long hair and a former employee of GNC (General Nutrition Center), I've read up on what makes hair grow. You need to eat red meat, milk %26amp; dairy products, and I'd also recommend a vitamin B complex. They also have lots of hair, skin, and nail supplements on the market that you can take. It really is better to have a healthy diet and balanced nutrition though.

Also, don't damage your hair by excess washing, processing, and/or dyeing it. It is helpful to condition your hair with each washing, and make a point of combing your hair before you wash it because then you'll have fewer tangles after it is clean. Don't blow dry your hair. Gently towel dry and then comb it, and allow it to dry naturally. Wet hair is more suseptible to breakage, so don't pull to firmly on it. Be sure to use short gentle strokes, starting from the top of your head to the bottom of your hair instead. All these things will help ensure longer, stronger, and healthier hair. the best you should do is one thing mostm people tend to forget, have your hair trimmed regularly. because of trimming your hair, you get rid of your spilt ends which if you will not trim fast will most likely split even more! this is why some people think they're hair is not gorwing.

also, don't use harsh chemicals for your hair and scalp.

Here's what you gotta do:

1. Get a vitamin E capsule (most of them comes in gel capsule form that has a liquid inside. Any brand will do.)

2. Get a needle and pop the capsule.

3. Now get your shampoo bottle and put the liquid vitamin E inside the bottle.

4. Mix the bottle.

5. Use your shampoo.

You'll notice that your hair will grow faster compared before. Trust me, this works. :) I also do this myself. :)

If you have virgin coconut oil at home, you can use this as well. Put it on hair and leave it for at least 30 minutes (You can do this at least 3x a day). Then rinse it off using your shampoo. The VCO can act as your hair lengthener and as your conditioner. :) Goodluck! :)

My hair is over 3ft long, and is drawing close to my knees.

My mom says I can have dozens of hairstyles, but I have yet to find many that look good, or I can do easily and don't take a long time. Basically all I have is:

(My cosuin can do a chopsticks bun awesomely, but I have yet to master that one..)

I usually pony tail my hair. In half or whole or half/whole.

Or braid it. Because it is so long, it is hard to style it, so I just take advantage of all the hair pretties available.

These include scrunchies, clips, barrettes etc.

I use different ones to match outfit. And jewelry. You can't wear a gold toned clip, with silver toned jewelry.

I have even worn clip on earrings with a bobby pin as a hair pretty.

well, with curly hair, you could really go either way if you straighten it, but it really depends on wether you have thick or thin hair, because if its thick, the shorter you cut it, the less weight there is pulling it down so it gets more poofy and bigger but if its thin then youre one of the lucky ones that can straighten your hair if you cut it short and have it look fabulous! hope i helped!

I think curly hair looks best when it's kept around the shoulders. When some girls allow their curly hair to get long, some parts of it get wavy and other parts just break and get curly around their face, which looks awful... but cutting it too short makes you look like Annie or like you have an afro, and that's not much fun either.

Well, eventually your hair will grow out. It would probably take 3-6 months. If you're worried about people making fun of your extensions, then I'd suggest not getting them, and letting your hair grow out. There are all kinds of new temporary extensions on the market now , that you just clip in. That's something to think about.

Maybe you should try going to a salon and talking with a stylist, maybe they could turn your cut into something bearable or teach you to style it so you won't hate it.

Don't finght over the hair, give control in that area, but don't in areas that jeopardise his safety. Focus on issues like curfew, substance use, girls, safe sex, being respectful, earning good grades, etc. Good luck.

I have very thin, long hair that falls falt to my head and I hate it. I've tried every trick in the book to get my hair to appear thicker. Hair experts usually suggest short bobs to give the appearance of thickness, but I prefer longer hairstyles.

I'm ready for a change, and would be willing to go as short as shoulder lenght at the most. I want someting fun and sassy with layers and body.

Does anyone have any suggestions that would be the best for my hair type and desires? I have an oval face, as well if that helps.

I used to use a curling iron to try an pry the hair nearest to my part upward and outward and then use hair spray to keep it up off my head. It became a disgusting mess. i have the same situation as you do. what i do to make my hair appear thicker is have shorter layers on the top. you can also tease the top crown area but dont overdo it too much volume could make it look like you are stuck in the 80's. explain to your stylist that you would like shorter layers in the crown area so that it would appear that you more lift and volume. there is also the option of a permanent wave. the perm gives your hair more lift. You can get a loose perm that gives your hair a little wave which is also very easy to straighten with a hairdryer but leaves the volume.

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

With your body type %26amp; face shape , i would deffinatly go shorter than you are right now, but I wouldn't go too short. . .

Color wise is basically up to you, if you were my client, I would go with a honey type blonde with some contrasting high %26amp; low lights. I think going a little lighter with the blonde will brighten you up - not dull you out with a mousy color!!

Well, I guess how short to go would depend on how attached you are to your long hair. Sounds to me that long, thick, heavy hair would contribute to headaches and neck aches from the weight. Perhaps you could lighten the load a bit and donate some of your locks to "Locks of Love" to help make wigs for kids with cancer and still have plenty of length left over. You could ask your hairdresser about that.

I personally like women with shorter hair, but the look is really up to you. If you like how some people with your facial features look like in short hair, then maybe you ought to think along that line.

If you do decide to get it cut, it would be nice if you would save the hair and donate it to the children who lose their hair though having to take chemo for their cancer. There is a place on the web where you can donate it, and believe me, these young ladies have enough to worry about with their cancer. Having your spare hair is a god-send to them.

I believe they accept donations of hair which is at least 8 inches long.

Well, It depends on how long ur hair is....but if it's at that length, then I would (if u still like ur long hair) cut it to my shoulders length, but if ur hair is already that long, then trim it, I kinda belive in that stuff, but don't let it get to ur head/hair too much, cause then ur paranoied.....ummm, worried too much. Just let ur hair grow as much as u want. whatever makes u happy, but if ur hair is falling out everytime u brush ur hair, and if its only a few strands, don't worry, I't (gulp) happens to me and my mom every now and then. but if it falls out un controllably, see a doctor.

Up until I was 12 I had beautiful long hair. At 12 I started highlighting it with an at home kit and it didnt do much damage, but in effort to get all the blonde off and start over I decided to get a pixie cut at the age of 13. My hair was 2 inches long. Because my hair was so short I decided to have fun with it for awhile and started bleaching it, then dying it and I did this over and over. Finally I started to grow it out but my natural hair didnt feel the same. Is it possible I damaged hair follicles? I got my hair cut and its about 1 inch past my shoulders, I'm trying to grow it out and get it natural again but the bottom is damaged, and my hair has a tint of orange/red when the dye fades which makes me want to dye it again. I have to straighten it every couple days so that it doesnt look like a big poof (because the bottom 4 or 5 inches is damaged and gives a poof look while the top is pretty straight).

No, it is not possible to damage your hair follicles by bleaching and coloring. Even this long after the fact, you may still have some of that damaged hair at the bottom, and the only way you can help that is to cut it off. I know you want to grow your hair out, but if you leave the damaged ends on, the damage does have the ability to travel up and start damaging your healthy hair. This will cause it to break off, and your hair will appear to not be growing at all!

Go to the salon and ask your hairstylist to tell you how much would have to come off to get rid of ALL the damaged ends. Even though you have a hard time telling where it ends and the good hair begins, she is trained to do so and she will be able to tell you exactly how much needs to come off. Of course, it's still your choice whether you cut off what she suggests, but if you don't it's just going to continue to look bad.

Another thing to consider is that you are at the age that you're going through puberty, and our natual hair can change drastically during this time. The color, the texture, the thickness/thinness, etc, all of that can change during puberty, extreme sickness/medications, pregnancy %26amp; breastfeeding, times of extreme stress, and menopause. So it's possible that your hair was changing, but you didn't really know it because you were busy bleaching and coloring your short hair. Now that it's grown out long, you are noticing changes in your hair. This is normal. However, you really won't know if you're seeing changes in your natural hair or if you're seeing old damage until you have the stylist get rid of all that old damaged hair.

First off, you cannot damage your hair follicle with color, perm solution, relaxer etc. So the condtion could be many things, your diet etc. Try taking vitamins. And conditong treatments. This should help with the new growth of hair, and your current hair. As far as the orange redcolor, stay away from colors with Gold or warm..stay with a neutral or and ash. YOur best bet is to goto a salon. but i realize thats not an option for everyone. also, try a smoothing serum, like paul mitchell skinny for the "poofing problem" use it on the ends beofre you blowdry and jsut a small amout more on the ends when you flat iron..! good luck. Also about the Shades, Its a Redken product, I used to use it, and just a memo, the claim about the product is that its less damaging then other colors...and its very shiny. ITs so shiny because it contains a plastic polomer..coating the hair. Overtime it casues build-up. Regardless of what anyone says..it has plastic in it...not good for the hair. Wella makes realllllyyyyy great color.

I recently got my hair cut. It's not super short, but it's too my shoulders, and my hair used to reach to the bottom of my chest. People say they like my hair, but I really miss my long hair - a lot! It's been almost two weeks and I'm still not over it. I know there is no way to make my hair grow faster, but does anyone have any tips to keep my hair super healthy so it will grow as fast as possible?

I have been taking hair supplements for the past 3 years and here is what I have found.

GNC makes a tablet called "Ultra Nourishair" in formulas for men and women, the pills are taken daily, 2 pills a day. They are HUGE and very hard to swallow, if you have any trouble at all with large tablets, then I wouldn't recommend these. The 2 pills also contain only 1200 micrograms total of Biotin, which is the main supplement needed for hair to grow faster and stronger. You should try to get a minimum of 2500 micrograms of Biotin daily to improve hair's rate of growth and its condition. Even though I took these GNC pills for 4 months, I wouldn't recommend them because they are not the most high quality pills available.

ProCaps labs makes a great supplement called "Hair Skin and Nails" formula, here is the link for that

This is in capsule form and much easier to swallow. This company, ProCaps labs is also extremely reputable and carries pure and effective products.

I took GNC's Nourishair for four months, and supplemented it with extra Biotin tablets daily due to its low Biotin content. I took 2500 micrograms extra Biotin with the GNC pills.

The Procaps hair vites have 2500 micrograms of Biotin in them, and don't really require extra Biotin be taken, but I do take an additional 2500 micrograms of Biotin for a daily total of 5000 micrograms of Biotin.

My hair is growing in thick and dark and quite quickly. My hair used to be very slow growing, but all of these supplements have really made a difference.

The only way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made, any shampoos or oils or other topically applied things do nothing to change hair's structure, that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a "Jack and the beanstalk" type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growth.

you might not believe this....but use salt to wash your hair. i hated my hair cut (around 2 months ago) because it was WAY too short (at least to my standards) so my aunt recommended to use salt (preferably salt you find in a drugstore for your body and FEET.....) but regular salt that's for eating is also fine. my hair has grown so much in the pass 2 months even i can't believe it. just fill a bucket of salt water to wash your hair with.....it really works! oh and remember, you still need to use shampoo....=D

i would recommend extra vitamins a + e by eating plently of healthy nuts, fish vegetables etc. as well as using a quality shampoo and conditioner, not washing too often and avoiding heat based styling as much as possible!

And other than that simply try using tricks and techniqes to enhance your hair cut like pony-tails or up dos that are harder to do with long hair

take a prenatel vitamin...any kind that you would find at the drug store is fine. They have lot n lots of the vitamins that make your hair grow super fast and super healthy...thats why pregnant people always brag about how great thier hair was during pregnancy ( because they were taking vitamins). Dont worry, prenatal vitamins are safe to take even if your not pregnant. They have basically the same thing as a regular multivitamin but MUCH more of each vitamin. hope this helps!

I loved my hair shorter. I recently cut mine so that it just touches my shoulders. I had it layered around my face so it falls nicely around, and looks sophisticated (or so I think!). If you have an oval face you should get some layers to keep your hair from making your face look longer. Don't cut your hair shorter than mine (just at the shoulders) if you have a long neck. If you do go shorter than shoulder length, you have to work harder to fix it everyday depending on style so keep that in mind. Try going shoulder length, that way it's not too short, and if you don't like it, it will grow back long soon enough. Shoulder lenth also isn't "extreme", and you can still get it in a pony tail. Just add a headband to hold your bangs. Good luck. :o)

find a style that looks good on people with your shape of face and colouring

find a style that you will be able to manage afterwards

find a hairdresser who has a good reputation for cutting hair. Personal recommendations are best.

If you can go and try a wig on, it will give you some idea.

finally, it is worth investing your time before you have your hair cut as once its snipped, its gone !!

If your hair is really long, don't forget to send it to 'Locks Of Love' or similar so that a little one who has lost their hair through Chemo can have a wig made. If you can, get people to sponser you and give the money to charity. It all helps if you regret your decision later. Chill out if you don't like it, your hair will grow again.....

Find a website like I found (sorry but I found it with luck) %26amp; check it out. Print it out %26amp; ask your most honest friends %26amp; family what they think.
