Will LONG layers make my hair look longer or shorter?

my hair is up to my bra straps not very long i had layers when my hair was long when it was almost to my butt but my hair was so dead i had to cut alot of it off and i just made it straight with no layes cause my hair was to short my hair grew alot more but i dont know if it will look shorter if i put long layers? because if it is going to look shorter i dont want to do it cause i like my hair long what do you think it will do if i put long layers will it make my hair look longer or shorter ?

As long as you are keeping the basic same length on the bottom layer, your hair will not appear shorter. The best reson people get layers in their hair is actually to make their hair a bit lighter and easier to work with. This usually applies to people with thick hair who have a hard time dealing with it. My hair sounds about the same as yours, and I always have them put layers in. Long layers will not make your hair appear shorter hun, it just won't appear as thick, and will probably be easier to work with. as long as the bottom layers are longer your hair will be considered long if it were shorter on the bottom then your hair is considered short....

Depends how thick your hair is. Also depends how long the layers are going to be. It will be harder to put up if they are too short.

DONT put in layers....my hair is just below my shoulders and i got layers in it and now i wish id never gotten them in......... but longer layers DO make your hair look longer obviously!!...
